Resolutions of the New Year

So as we are kicking off 2009, I ask myself where the heck did 2008 go!? I really dislike this time flying by thing. It makes me feel, I dunno...rushed? Sometimes I feel a little panicky, like I am letting too many days slip through my fingers and there are so many thing I want to do and see and I don't want to be old and gray before I do them. I need to act and do something with my life NOW!! I swear I am having a midlife crisis in my mid-twenties. =P Then I take some deep breaths and remind myself that it is what it is and that I just need to live in the moments, no matter how fast they slip by. That is the reality of things, though that is not very comforting. heh!

So...I have never really done a "New Year's Resolution" before. So I thought this year that it might be worth while. But I can't really decide what it is I want to resolve to doing/being/etc. So I am making a list of all the things that I want to strive for. They are the usual things I try to remember to work on or make time for, but hey, maybe if they are out there in the open, I will try to be more committed. Riiight.
  • Spend more time with friends. I just don't think I see some of you nearly enough.
  • Stay in touch. Answer my emails and facebook messages from old friends, call my family more, write letters.
  • Take time to read more. I really miss it. Maybe a book a month goal?
  • Finish my unfinished video games. They really do bring me lots of enjoyment.
  • Finish the paintings I started two years ago and start new ones.
  • Take time to smell the roses...and read web comics.
  • Take more time to play scrapbooking! (And take more pictures to scrapbook with)
  • Take better care of my health. (Like going to the dentist. Hey, it has only been two years!)
  • Draw a doodle everyday. =)
  • Takin care of business. Work harder towards expanding my freelancing business.
  • Learn more. I feel I have been falling behind on all my fun tech web stuff. I need to take time to keep up with the trends and experiment with fun new things.
  • Be balanced.
  • Love more. (Who could not do with a little more love in their life?)
  • Blog more. (good luck with this one, but I will try)
That may seem like a hefty list, but most of them are little things. I will try to peck away at them as much as I can! Good luck to you and whatever New Years Resolutions you are shooting for this year. Happy 2009 Everyone!
