Sword Play

I had a crummy week this week. Probably the crummiest so far at the new job. And not just because it was a long boring week or I feel creatively stifled, but because my boss was being a whiny douche bag and needed thwarted. >_<;; grrr....

So I came home today after a particularly irritating day feeling frustrated almost to the point of tears. I open the door and here come kitty and The Boy bouncing across the room to meet me. (as if that isn't enough to cheer one up by itself!) The first thing kitty said was "mrrroow!" and the first thing The Boy said was "Hi honey! Want to go to Toys-R-Us?" I smiled. "Yes, I would love to go to Toys-R-Us. That is just what I need."

So we hopped in the car and headed off to the toy store. Apparently we were on a mission. I assumed that it was a game of sorts but after we left the toy store empty handed I was confused. I asked what he was looking for and all I got was "You will see when I find it." A secret mission.

So after searching a Target, two Toys-R-Us's and a Wal*Mart, all to no avail, we took a break for dinner before hitting up the Über-Target. And Target came through for us! Yay, the mystery search was over!

And what did we get you ask? ...Nerf Swords. But not just any Nerf Swords, apparently these were "new and improved" Nerf Swords that are more sturdy and long lasting for your foam dueling fun. I lol'ed right there in the store.

We bought two of them and considered stopping at a park on the way home, but we had a hungry kitty waiting for us, so after we took her for a walk (it is really becoming a part of her routine...she loves the walks! Who knew.) and fed her dinner, we got out the Nerf Swords, moved the furniture aside and duked it out in the living room!

It was awesome and very stress relieving! I think we are going to go to the park on Sunday and play some more. =D Haha what dorks we are! What a great way to end a rough week. Thanks hunny. <3 I needed that.
