A Sickly Kitty

Ah-choo.



Ashi Sparta has been sick. And not just "the sniffles" sick, full blown doc exams & meds sick. Poor thing just can't cut a break.

It started with a sad kitty day. She was obviously not feeling well and wasn't eating so the next day I took her into her least favorite place, the vet. We have an awesome doctor, mind you, but Ashi is just an anxious, very uncooperative and VERY bitey kitty. She does not play well with others and thus has to be sedated for nearly everything.

So over the course of the month it started out with a fever, constipation and not eating. Got better. Got worse. Got better. Turned into swollen kitty paws (caused by an unknown allergy). Got better and ended in kitty sneezes.

5 doctors visits, 1 trip to the ER vet, a kitty enema, an ultrasound, a liver biopsy, multiple medications and antibiotics, kitty laxatives, fancy Rx kitty food, 2 blood tests, and a couple thou later, we still don't know what the heck started it all.

But the good news is that she is doing better though she still has the sneezes and is skinny from loosing 2 lbs, which is a huge amount for a cat that only weighs 9 lbs to begin with! But I am fattening her up right quick!

So this has been my ongoing drama for the month. Having not had to deal with much stress for quite some time, my once well stress conditioned self had a pretty hard time dealing with it. It is tough being a kitty-mama.
